Cut Chalk
- for an ensemble of musicians and dancers.

This piece brings a precisely tuned cast of Cornish dancers and
musicians together to create a work of visual and sonic poly-rhythm.
Six deft and sinuous female dancers press and beat intricate physical
patterns into a live rhythmic score of hands, feet and voices. Soloist
Trez McBean laces a path through the thrumming residue of sound
and motion, slicing and defining the space with quiet determination.

Performed live in Cornish Dance Theater and On the Boards' 2010 Northwest new Works Festival, Cut Chalk was shot in June 2010 in the Lodge Room at historic Washington Hall with Ben Kasulke and is currently in post-production.

Corrie collaborated with the music ensemble to create the live sound score which is laced with electronic textures by Tom Baker. She is very grateful to beautiful singer/songwriter Molly Rose for working with her on the song that frames the live work and film.

  Natsuko Tezuka's Dojo-yaburi  - project and performance

Natsuko Tezuka's Dojo-yaburi is formed by a series of workshops with a select group of choreographers and dancers including Mari Fukutome, Ave-M-Aria, Mikako Arita, Corrie Befort and Yuki Enomoto and musician Kuri Suzuki. These seven very different artists discuss the dojo, which within this project most closely resembles 'method', that they use when working improvisationally. They then attempt to work within each other's dojo, finally improvising using a combination of their own and the adopted methods. Performances of this work arise after each workshop and are fascinating to watch.
